Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is advertising for a Peer Support Worker in Aylesbury. This contract role focuses on using lived experience of the criminal justice system to support service users in navigating care pathways and accessing appropriate services.

The post is based mainly in Buckinghamshire within the Berkshire Healthcare Trust, with an 18-month development programme to build skills. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package and is funded as a fixed-term contract.

Qualifications

• Must have lived experience of the criminal justice system.
• Direct lived experience and being stable in recovery from an addiction, mental ill health or other vulnerabilities.
• Awareness of modelling appropriate behaviours, ability to cope when unsupervised; setting clear boundaries and seeking support to protect recovery, health and wellbeing.
• Good listening and effective communication to engage with service users, carers, colleagues and partner agencies.

Responsabilités

• Provide one-to-one practical and emotional support to service users.
• Encourage clients to access services that improve health and wellbeing.
• Be a positive role model to engage with services and support recovery.
