Job summary

St Christopher's Hospice is seeking a Lived Experience Community Connector to join the Community Action Team in Sydenham, with hybrid working options. The role focuses on engaging people with lived experience to participate in projects and learning opportunities, ensuring their voices shape services.

You’ll collaborate with the Community Support Hub and Lived Experience Programme, emphasizing teamwork and strong communication to support inclusion and compassionate outreach.

Qualifications

• Experience engaging with diverse community groups.
• Ability to handle conversations around sensitive life events.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Compassionate and empathetic approach to end-of-life contexts.

Responsibilities

• Understand community needs and coordinate with the team to meet them when possible.
• Recruit community members to participate in lived experience projects.
• Maintain compassionate values and respectful engagement with community members.
• Help meet people’s pastoral needs by offering support.
• Develop the skills and confidence of people involved in lived experience projects.
• Promote Community Action projects to the public and to relevant groups.
