Job summary

Total Community Care in Redruth is seeking a compassionate live-in carer to support an elderly client in their own home. You will provide daily companionship, personal care and help with daily living activities, while staying in a private room with adequate breaks.

We offer full training, paid induction and clear opportunities for progression into senior or leadership roles. DBS check is provided and staff discounts are available, with a meaningful role within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in clinical tasks would be advantageous prior to an interview: bladder care, bowel management, moving and handling equipment, medication administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day companionship and personal care.
• Assist with activities of daily living and domestic tasks.
• Support feeding and preparation of meals.
• Relocate and accompany client as needed; ensure client comfort.

What you’ll do

Our live-in care assistants are extraordinary people who do the everyday things that mean so much to our clients. Supporting vulnerable people to live safer and supported lives in their own homes, you’ll provide day-to-day companionship, and personal care, assist clients with the activities of daily living, and help with practical tasks like shopping, mealtimes, and housework.

We support all our Live-in Care Assistants and provide training as well as opportunities for career progression. You will be provided with your private room and have adequate breaks each day. Every day will be different. And you’ll never know what challenges you’re about to face next. One thing you can be sure of though, is that you’ll be making your clients’ days brighter.

We are looking for an active kind, caring and empathetic live in carer for a client that is an elderly lady with multiple sclerosis. You will be supporting with feeding, personal care and domestic duties.

There are also ducks and chickens at the premises which require feeding daily.

In terms of clinical aspects there may be catheter care, which is changed by district nurses, PRN medication and specialist moving and handling via tracking hoist.

What you'll need

Experience required in the following clinical tasks would make your application extremely advantageous prior to an interview commencing:

• Strong Communication Abilities

• Medication Administration
• Experienced in a Live In care setting.
