Top international law firm wishes to recruit an experienced Solicitor with ideally 2-3 years + PQE within Disease.

Job Purpose

We are looking for ambitious, driven candidates who want to join a leading Northern Ireland defence firm. The successful candidate will benefit from working with an insurance industry leader representing most of the key Insurance clients in the UK.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Develop and maintain key and new client relationships, including attendance at appropriate client meetings
  2. Manage service delivery and quality to key disease clients
  3. Assist in increasing the firm's profile in the Disease market (which may include producing marketing information such as articles/blogs, delivering training/seminars, etc.)
  4. Handle own caseload including high-value/complex/nominated cases with appropriate assistance and performance metrics (chargeable hours and billing)
  5. Contribute to relevant contract tender submissions
  6. Contribute to the development of key strategies to combat opponent behaviours
Working Hours

35 hours per week - Hybrid working. Primary location is the Belfast office.

Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience in litigated defendant insurance work up to £500k, including Disease cases, particularly industrial disease claims such as HAVS, Mesothelioma, Plaques, Asbestosis, Dermatitis, and hearing loss claims.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work with case management systems
Desirable Skills
  • Proven track record working within a legal team
  • Experience contributing to tenders and pricing
