Job summary

Clear Legal & Financial Recruitment is seeking an experienced Litigation Solicitor to join their Cheltenham office. You will advise a diverse client base and manage matters from instruction through to conclusion, handling a broad range of civil and commercial disputes.

You will draft statements, liaise with Counsel and external professionals, and represent clients in court and ADR. The role offers hybrid working and clear career progression.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor with strong experience in general, civil, or commercial litigation.
• Excellent drafting and client management skills are essential.
• Confidence in representing clients in court and ADR processes.

Responsibilities

My client is recruiting for an experienced Litigation Solicitor to join their office in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

Key responsibilities

• Advising a diverse client base including corporate entities, trusts, charities and individuals.
• Managing matters from initial instruction through to conclusion.
• Formulating case strategy and providing ongoing legal advice.
• Handling a broad range of general, civil and commercial disputes.
• Dealing with property litigation and contentious probate matters.
• Drafting statements of case, witness statements, legal correspondence and other documentation.
• Instructing and working with Counsel and other external professionals.
• Representing clients at court, mediation and settlement negotiations.
• Assisting with larger and more complex matters led by senior members of the team.
• Supporting and supervising junior colleagues where appropriate.
• Contributing to business development, networking and the continued growth of the team and firm.

The Candidate

• Be a qualified Solicitor.
• Have strong experience across general, civil or commercial litigation.
• Ideally have experience of property litigation and/or contentious probate.
• Be confident managing their own caseload with appropriate autonomy.
• Have strong technical legal knowledge and excellent drafting skills.
• Be commercially minded and focused on achieving positive outcomes for clients.
• Have excellent communication and client management skills.
• Be confident dealing with Counsel and representing clients in court and alternative dispute resolution.
• Be willing to contribute to business development and networking.
• Have an interest in supporting and developing junior members of the team.
