Job summary

Eversheds Sutherland in Nottingham invites applications for a capable and ambitious Paralegal to join our Litigation & Arbitration team. You must bring prior paralegal experience or transferable experience from a litigation environment.

This role will support our retail banking disputes workstream, providing an excellent opportunity to develop hands-on litigation experience while working alongside senior lawyers on a broad range of matters.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a paralegal in a disputes or litigation team, or transferrable experience from a similar environment.
• Demonstrable understanding of court procedures and deadlines, with the ability to progress multiple matters concurrently.
• Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing.
• A collaborative and proactive approach, with a willingness to learn and develop.
• Exceptional focus on detail and quality.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with case preparation, including drafting correspondence, compiling bundles, managing disclosure and filing of procedural court documents.
• Conducting legal research and summarising findings for use in litigation matters.
• Liaising with courts, clients, counsel and third parties to progress matters efficiently.
• Maintaining accurate records of court deadlines and ensuring compliance with procedural deadlines.
• Preparing court documents and assisting with filing and submission.
• Providing administrative support, including billing and matter management.
• Maintaining compliance with internal risk and conflicts processes.
• Assisting with maintaining and updating Standard Operating Procedures and templates as processes evolve.
• Supporting data capture for reporting on claim volumes, outcomes and trends.
• Extensive contact with clients and intermediaries in order to progress matters and seek and receive instructions from clients.
