Job summary

We are Eversheds Sutherland, a global law firm in Nottingham, seeking a capable and ambitious Paralegal to join our Litigation & Arbitration team. You must bring prior paralegal experience or transferable experience from a litigation environment.

This role will support our retail banking disputes workstream, providing an excellent opportunity to develop hands-on litigation experience while working alongside senior lawyers on a broad range of matters.

Qualifications

• Previous paralegal experience in disputes or transferable experience from a litigation environment.
• Understanding of court procedures and deadlines.
• Excellent organisation and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Collaborative and proactive approach with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with case preparation, including drafting correspondence, compiling bundles, managing disclosure and filing of procedural court documents
• Conducting legal research and summarising findings for use in litigation matters
• Liaising with courts, clients, counsel and third parties to progress matters efficiently
• Maintaining accurate records of court deadlines and ensuring compliance with procedural deadlines
• Preparing court documents and assisting with filing and submission
• Providing administrative support, including billing and matter management
• Maintaining compliance with internal risk and conflicts processes
• Assisting with maintaining and updating Standard Operating Procedures and templates as processes evolve
• Supporting data capture for reporting on claim volumes, outcomes and trends
• Extensive contact with clients and intermediaries in order to progress matters and seek and receive instructions from clients.
