We are currently partnering with a Local Authority in Somerset, who are recruiting for a Litigation Lawyer to join their growing team on a 3 month locum contract.

This is a 25 hour per week contract and the hourly rate is circa £60.00/hour (Umbrella)

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Managing caseload and advising on a variety of litigation matters, relating to: homelessness, housing disrepair, debt recovery, possession proceedings, injunctions, both for access to property and in relation to anti-social behaviour, traveller encampments, regulatory prosecutions and judicial review proceedings
• Conducting legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and legal documents, and providing case analysis
• Advising on education matters, including, in particular, challenges to decisions around SEND and EHC Assessments
• Assisting in negotiating settlements and alternative dispute resolutions when appropriate
• Advising in respect of selective and additional licensing schemes and enforcement work
• Providing guidance and supervision to junior members of the Litigation team
