Keoghs in Bristol seeks an experienced Litigated EL/PL Claims Handler to manage a portfolio of litigated Employer's and Public Liability claims for a major insurer client. You’ll take ownership from instruction through to resolution, driving strategy with support from a Technical Support Lawyer.

This hybrid role offers autonomy, a manageable caseload, and opportunities to handle Infant Approval Hearings while ensuring excellent client outcomes.

• Experience handling litigated EL/PL claims.
• Strong knowledge of personal injury litigation and Civil Procedure Rules.
• Experience working within a delegated authority environment.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of litigated EL/PL claims.
• Investigate liability, causation and quantum.
• Review pleadings, witness evidence, medical records and expert reports.
• Develop effective litigation and settlement strategies.
• Negotiate settlements within delegated authority limits.
• Handle Infant Approval Hearings where required.
• Maintain accurate reserving and file management.
• Build relationships with insurer client and stakeholders.

Description

Keoghs is seeking an experienced Claims Handler to manage a portfolio of litigated Employer's and Public Liability claims for a major insurer client.

Working on a delegated authority basis, you'll take ownership of claims from instruction through to resolution, making key decisions, driving litigation strategy and delivering excellent client outcomes. You'll be supported by a dedicated Technical Support Lawyer, providing guidance on complex legal and procedural issues when required.

This role offers a manageable caseload, real autonomy and the opportunity to handle a varied mix of litigated personal injury claims, including matters requiring Infant Approval Hearings.
