The Bishop of Winchester Academy in Bournemouth is seeking an English Tutor and Reading Intervention Specialist to deliver targeted one-to-one and small group English tuition, focusing on reading, phonics and literacy to boost attainment.

You will plan engaging, structured sessions, identify students needing support, monitor progress and report outcomes, while working with staff and parents to raise literacy achievement.

Qualifications

• Has a strong academic background in English (A Level, degree or equivalent).
• Genuine passion for literacy and reading development.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and motivate them to succeed.
• Clear written and oral communication, organised and adaptable.
• Enjoys collaborative work as part of a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality one-to-one and small group English tuition and literacy interventions.
• Identify students needing extra support in reading, phonics and English.

• Monitor, assess and report on student progress and outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with staff, students and parents as appropriate.
