Job summary

Hopwood Hall College in Rochdale is seeking a Learning Support Specialist - Literacy & Numeracy to support learners with SEND across further education settings. The role focuses on targeted interventions and adapting strategies to improve literacy and numeracy.

You will work with teaching staff to monitor progress, develop confidence and independence, and help learners achieve Functional Skills and EHCP outcomes in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners with SEND in education.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills are essential.
• Ability to tailor learning materials to individual learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support in English and maths.
• Deliver targeted interventions to improve reading, writing, spelling, and numeracy.
• Support learners in developing Functional Skills.
• Adapt learning materials and strategies for individual needs.
• Support learners with SEND including diverse needs.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff.
• Help learners build confidence, independence, study and employability skills.
• Support EHCP outcomes where appropriate.
• Promote inclusive learning and engagement.
• Collaborate with lecturers, tutors, SEND teams and staff.
