Job summary

The Norwich Bioscience Institutes Partnership invites applications for a Linux Systems Administrator to join the Research Computing team, delivering a managed research computing product life cycle. You will support Linux-based systems and services, handle incidents and service requests, and report to the Deputy Head of Research Computing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Honours degree in computer science or related subject or equivalent demonstrable experience
• Master’s degree in computer science or related computational subject desirable
• Certificated courses in Linux, Enterprise Storage or networking desirable

Responsibilities

• Develop and support on-site research services built on Linux platforms and core services such as WordPress, OMERO and Globus
• Provide storage administration support with Senior Storage Engineer for Dell PowerScale and CEPH
• Create user and technical documentation; assist in running training and triage of user computing requests
• Support HPC, cloud provisioning and related primary systems
• Perform other duties as commensurate with role and line manager guidance
