Job summary

BDLSS, part of Bodleian Libraries, is seeking an experienced Linux systems administrator to join the team that runs institutional digital services for students, researchers and the public. You will work with software engineers to keep Linux-based services reliable, secure and easy to maintain.

You will troubleshoot Linux systems, manage patching and security, automate provisioning, and support PostgreSQL or MySQL databases.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Linux-based systems and applications.
• Proficient with patching, security, backups and incident response.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL databases.
• Experience with automated provisioning and configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based systems and applications.
• Monitor production systems and ensure reliability and performance.
• Implement patching, security controls and backups.
• Support deployment pipelines and IaC across services.
