Job summary

CBSbutler is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to operate secure Linux-based environments on a high-profile defence programme. The role requires active DV clearance and on-site work in Hampshire, with daily rates of £600-£700 outside IR35.

The candidate will build and maintain containerised infrastructure, develop CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate across security and software teams to ensure high availability and robust performance.

Qualifications

• Active DV Clearance is essential.
• Strong Linux administration experience (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
• DevOps tooling including Jenkins, Git, GitLab or Azure DevOps.
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Ansible.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Bash and/or Python scripting; Git version control knowledge.

We are seeking an experienced DV Cleared DevOps Engineer to join a high-profile defence programme, supporting the delivery and operation of secure, mission-critical infrastructure.

This is a hands-on role for an engineer with strong Linux administration skills and a solid DevOps background, working within highly secure environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, automate and maintain secure Linux-based environments.
• Develop and support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux servers and associated services.
• Deploy and manage containerised applications.
• Work closely with infrastructure, software and security teams to deliver resilient platforms.
• Monitor, maintain and optimise system performance and availability.

Essential Skills

• Active DV Clearance.
• Strong Linux administration experience (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
• DevOps tooling including Jenkins, Git, GitLab or Azure DevOps.
