Job summary

CBSbutler is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a high-security defence programme in Hampshire. This hands-on role requires strong Linux administration and a solid DevOps background, with on-site work only.

You'll build, automate and maintain secure Linux environments, develop CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation, manage containers, and collaborate with infrastructure, software and security teams to ensure resilient platforms and availability. DV clearance is essential.

Qualifications

• Active DV Clearance.
• Strong Linux administration experience (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
• DevOps tooling including Jenkins, Git, GitLab or Azure DevOps.
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Ansible.
• Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Bash and/or Python scripting.
• Experience with version control (Git).
• Knowledge of networking, system hardening and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Build, automate and maintain secure Linux-based environments.
• Develop and support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux servers and associated services.
• Deploy and manage containerised applications.
• Work closely with infrastructure, software and security teams to deliver resilient platforms.
• Monitor, maintain and optimise system performance and availability.
