Job summary

Unity seeks a Software Engineer to join the Linux Platform Systems team, building core Linux platform support for SteamOS and cloud partnerships. You’ll work on low‑level engine systems, maintaining Linux targets and collaborating across Unity’s platform groups.

Key requirements include strong C++ skills, Linux desktop experience, debugging and profiling, with exposure to Unity/C# and automated testing. Equity and performance bonuses may apply.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with C++ development and software engineering.
• Experience developing on Linux desktop distributions.
• Ability to debug, diagnose and solve problems across a codebase.
• Understanding of profiling and optimisation methods.
• Experience with SteamOS.
• Experience developing with Unity and C#.
• Automated testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Developing & maintaining our core Linux platform support.
• Ensuring stability by investigating and resolving bug reports.
• Strengthening quality and delivery through automated testing and thoughtful code reviews.
• Working with Product, Program Management, Engineering and QA teams to bring new engine features to Linux platforms.
