Job summary

Searchability NS&D in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Linux/Automation Engineer to design and deliver automation across enterprise infrastructure. The role blends on-site work with occasional expensed visits, notably to London, to support cross-site initiatives.

You will develop automation for patching, upgrades and changes across Linux, VMware and F5 environments, and contribute to observability, validation, and continuous improvement of the platform.

Qualifications

• Weaknesses not allowed above; strong Linux/UNIX fundamentals required.
• Experience building infrastructure automation with Python and/or Ansible.
• Solid understanding of systems administration and networking.
• Experience with enterprise infrastructure and automation tooling.
• Experience with UNIX and F5 technologies, VMware virtualization, and automation.

• Design and develop automation to accelerate patching, upgrades and changes.
• Improve resilience and reduce risk through automation and validation.
• Strengthen pre- and post-change validation and observability.
• Support continuous improvement of automation capabilities within the team.
