Job summary

Searchability NS&D in Glasgow (Hybrid) is seeking an experienced Linux/Automation Engineer to design and deliver automation across large-scale enterprise infrastructure, including Linux, VMware, and F5 environments.

You will build automation to accelerate patching and changes, strengthen validation, improve observability with Prometheus, Grafana, and Airflow, and work with Python and Ansible within a collaborative engineering team.

Qualifications

• Strong Linux/UNIX administration fundamentals.
• Experience building infrastructure automation with Python and/or Ansible.
• Understanding of systems administration and networking in enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Salary: Up to £55,000 DoE

We’re working with a leading consultancy seeking an experienced Linux/Automation Engineer to join a team responsible for delivering automation across large-scale enterprise infrastructure.

This is an opportunity to help build a next-generation automation platform that enables safe, reliable, and efficient infrastructure change across critical Linux, VMware, and F5 environments.

The Role

You’ll play a key role in designing and developing automation that accelerates patching, upgrades, and infrastructure changes while improving resilience and reducing risk. Working within a highly skilled engineering team, you’ll help strengthen pre and post-change validation, enhance observability, and support the continuous improvement of automation capabilities.

What We’re Looking For
