Job summary

The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling soiled linen, decontaminating, folding, and packing clean linen, ensuring high-quality service delivery. This is a permanent, full-time role requiring active participation in a production environment.

Job description

Role Summary

We require a proactive and hardworking staff member to join our Linen Services team in a production line environment. The role involves handling soiled linen, decontaminating in accordance with HTM01-04, folding and packing clean linen, and ensuring a high quality service to meet service user needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Store soiled linen in appropriate areas within Health and Safety guidelines.
• Maintain quality of work and undertake quality checks on linen.
• Make straight forward judgements, investigate problems, and handle fault finding and stock issues.
• Perform laundry duties including packing clean linen, sorting soiled linen, programming/emptying washers and dryers.
• Carry out stock level checks and adjust delivery levels as required.
• Record daily issues to wards and departments using Benchmarker software.
• Work with a flexible approach bearing in mind the needs of service and staff.
• Wear clean protective uniform at all times and use relevant PPE in accordance with Trust policies.
• Report any signs of infestation, faulty equipment, accidents to the Linen Services Team Leader.
• Act as a buddy to new starters and support induction.

Qualifications & Experience

• Good basic level of secondary education.

Pay & Contract

Band 2 – £24,465 a year per annum

Permanent, full‑time, 37.5 hours per week (06:00‑14:00, with weekend work occasionally).
