Job summary

The Torridon in Scotland is seeking a detail‑oriented Housekeeping Assistant to provide a five‑star cleaning service across the resort. You will work up to 45 hours per week, delivering spotless guest rooms and public areas and supporting the housekeeping team.

You will manage linen, supplies, and guest requests, ensuring safety and sustainability guidelines are followed, with development opportunities and staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping in a 5-star hotel or resort.
• Ability to follow SOPs and safety guidelines.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain room cleanliness and replenish linen and supplies.
• Assist guests with requests such as extra beds, pillows, and bathroom supplies.
• Transport luggage as required.
• Clean guest rooms and public areas.
• Set and maintain fires in cottages and ensure logs and fire accessories are available.
• Assist with cleaning team bedrooms and uniforms.
• Stock and organise linen in cupboards; monitor stock levels.
• Follow all SOPs and safety guidelines.
• Support sustainability by reducing energy use and waste.

Responsible to: Head Housekeeper

Responsible for: 5 Star cleaning

Hours: Up to 45

Scope and general purpose: To ensure you are positive, productive, friendly fun and to ensure that you deliver a five-star housekeeping service in all areas of the resort.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Guests & Quality

• Ensuring the removal of dirty linen/towels and the supply of clean linen/towels to the resort
• Assist with guest requests such as extra beds, pillows, and bathroom supplies.
• Assist with washing and ironing of guest laundry - Forbes standard
• Communicate with guests during their stay so their expectations are exceeded.
• Carry luggage to and from guests' rooms as required.
• Assist with cleaning guest rooms and public areas.
• Set house fires and cottage fires and ensure enough logs and fire accessories.

Team

• Assist with the cleaning of team bedrooms for new arrivals and team areas
• Assist with the washing of team uniforms

Productivity

• Restock and replenish linen and supplies in the cupboards.
• Monitor linen stock and request orders to ensure the shift is efficient without running out of linen items.
• Count Linen and ensure the correct count is given to the laundry supplier.
• Organise and co-ordinate the distribution of laundry and linen around the resort
• Stock take linen and report any rejects, shortages or damaged linen to HHK.
• Follow all SOPs and checklists.

Health & Safety

• Ensure complete compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
• Follow all H & S guidelines as required and report near misses to HHK.

Sustainability & Environment

• Support the sustainability in your department in reducing energy consumption and wastage.
• Follow the sustainability policy.
