Symphony Senior Living Kanata is currently seeking a part-time Cook with a caring heart. We will teach you our systems, programs, and philosophy. However, we cannot teach compassion and empathy, so you will demonstrate those qualities in an interview process.

Job Requirements

1. Prepare, present, store, and dispatch all food products, including dining room, bistro (if applicable), marketing and catering events, and resident tray service, under the direction of the Food Service Coordinator and supervisors.
2. Ensure all food handling complies with health and safety regulations and sanitation guidelines.

Qualifications

• A positive, flexible work style and approach to change implementation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to communicate in English (written, verbal, reading) at a high school level; French skills are an asset.

• Must be COVID-19 vaccinated with at least two doses.
• Ability to work with dogs, cats, and other animals.
• Due to residents with dementia, tattoos and piercings should be covered or discreet. External body decorations should not be frightening to frail seniors with dementia.
• Legally allowed to work in Canada.
• In good physical health, capable of lifting, sitting, standing, and walking.
• Available to work every second weekend.
