Job summary

Kew Green Hotels is hiring a Commis Chef to join the kitchen team in the United Kingdom. You will cook to recipe standards, help create daily specials, and keep prep areas clean and stocked while following food safety guidelines.

The role offers a path via the Chef Academy to gain a funded Level 2 Commis Chef qualification, with a focus on teamwork, learning, and delivering memorable guest experiences. Training and development are supported within a friendly hotel setting.

This role reports to the Kitchen Manager.

What you'll do:

• Cook and present dishes to recipe standards, ensuring quality and consistency.
• Support the creation of daily specials to showcase your skills and excite our guests.
• Keep food prep areas stocked, clean, and ready throughout service.
• Follow food safety standards and help minimise waste.
• Work with your team and Kitchen Manager to deliver excellent guest experiences.

What we're looking for

• Previous cooking experience (restaurant, hotel, pub or similar) or a willingness to learn by joining our Chef Academy and completing a funded Level 2 Commis Chef qualification.
• Knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
• Basic Food Safety certification (or willingness to complete training).
• A passion for great food and creating memorable guest experiences.
• A positive attitude, commitment to teamwork and desire to learn.
