Job summary

Kew Green Hotels is seeking a kitchen support role to keep the kitchen running smoothly and assist the team in delivering great dining experiences for guests. Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, you’ll work behind the scenes to keep things clean, organized and service-ready, with opportunities through the Chef Development Programme to progress toward a chef role.

Responsibilities

• Support the kitchen team to deliver a positive, memorable dining experience.
• Ensure crockery, cutlery, pots and pans are cleaned to standard.
• Assist with basic food preparation during busy periods.
• Collect ingredients, equipment or materials as needed for service.
• Receive deliveries and store items safely and organized.
• Maintain storage areas for easy access to ingredients and materials.
• Keep the kitchen clean, tidy and ready for service, including end-of-day cleaning.
• Remove waste promptly and safely.
• Use cleaning materials and equipment safely and responsibly.
• Follow health, safety and food hygiene standards at all times.

This role is all about keeping the kitchen running smoothly and supporting the team to deliver great food experiences for our guests.

Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, you’ll play a vital role behind the scenes, ensuring everything is clean, organised and ready for service.

With our Chef Development Programme and Chef Academy, you will also have the opportunity to develop your skills and progress towards a chef role should you wish.

About the Role

You’ll be at the heart of the kitchen operation, supporting the team to deliver a smooth and efficient service.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the kitchen team in delivering a positive and memorable dining experience for guests.
• Ensuring all crockery, cutlery, pots and pans are cleaned to the required standard.
• Supporting with basic food preparation when required during busy service periods.
• Supporting chefs by collecting ingredients, equipment or materials as needed.
• Receiving deliveries and ensuring all items are stored safely, correctly and in an organised way.
• Maintaining storage areas so that ingredients and materials are easy to access.
• Keeping the kitchen clean, tidy and ready for service, including end-of-day cleaning.
• Removing waste promptly.
• Using cleaning materials and equipment safely and responsibly.
• Following all health, safety and food hygiene standards at all times.
