Britten Pears Arts (BPA) is seeking a Lighting Technician for Snape Maltings. The role involves running lighting for concerts, operating ETC EOS desks, and working with visiting designers and teams to create impactful stage lighting and transitions.
You will help plan and execute lighting for diverse events, maintain equipment, and oversee freelance staff to ensure high production standards. Based at Snape Maltings with some travel within East Suffolk.

At Snape Maltings, our significant commercial activity includes Retail, Hospitality, Galleries and Property – including holiday lets and accommodation for visiting artists. All commercial profits are used to support the BPA charity. We employ more than 150 permanent colleagues, many of whom work flexibly, together with significant numbers of seasonal staff and freelancers.

The backstage team are dedicated to helping to produce high-quality concerts and events and pride ourselves on being friendly and welcoming to all visiting musicians, artists and technicians. The Lighting Technician will assist with the organisation and running of the lighting aspects of our programmed events. These will usually be at one of our own venues including the internationally renowned Concert Hall, the flexible Britten Studio and the newly re-fitted Recital Room. The Lighting Technician will work closely with artists, backstage staff, freelancers and the music teams to prepare our performance spaces for concerts and other events. The Lighting Technician would also be expected to assist with AV and stage work as needed.
The role is based at Snape Maltings but some travel to other locations within East Suffolk will be required.
