Job summary

Marmon Lift Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Lift Tester to join a well-established lift and escalator company. The role covers testing and commissioning on modernisation and new installations, ensuring safety and compliance across projects in the North West and Midlands.

Ideal candidates will have NVQ Level 4 in Lift Testing and Commissioning, strong fault-finding skills, and a willingness to travel. A company vehicle and ongoing training are included as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Experience testing and commissioning passenger and goods lifts.

Responsibilities

• Test and commission newly installed and modernised lift equipment.
• Ensure lifts are safe to enter service and compliant with regulations.
• Carry out detailed electrical, mechanical and functional testing.
• Identify defects and remedial works, then coordinate with project teams.
• Complete documentation and handover reports for each project.
• Travel to project sites across designated regions as required.

Locations Considered: Manchester, Liverpool, Warrington, Preston, Blackburn, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport, Blackpool, Macclesfield, Chester, Altrincham, and surrounding areas.

Marmon Lift Recruitment is seeking experienced Lift Testers to join an established lift and escalator company, with separate positions available across the North West and Midlands.

Successful candidates will test and commission lift projects following modernisation and new installation works, ensuring each unit is safe to enter service and fully compliant with relevant regulations and industry standards.

Although each Lift Tester will cover a designated geographical area, applicants must be willing to travel when required. Subcontract testers will support projects located significantly outside the usual regions.

The Lift Tester Role

• Test and commission newly installed and modernised lift equipment.
• Ensure completed lifts are safe to enter service and fully compliant.
• Carry out detailed electrical, mechanical and functional testing.
• Identify defects, non-conformities and outstanding remedial works.
• Liaise with installation, modernisation and project teams to resolve technical issues.
• Complete accurate testing documentation, certification and handover reports.
• Work across various lift manufacturers and control systems.
• Travel to project sites throughout the North West, Midlands and occasionally beyond.

Ideal Lift Tester Candidate

• NVQ Level 4 in Lift Testing and Commissioning is essential.
• Strong experience testing and commissioning passenger and goods lifts.
• Previous experience working on modernisation and new installation projects.
• Advanced electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Sound knowledge of lift regulations, safety standards and compliance requirements.
• Confident producing testing documentation and communicating technical findings.
• Safety-conscious, organised and capable of working independently.
• Willingness to travel when projects require.
• Full UK driving licence.
