Job summary

Marmon Lift Recruitment is seeking an experienced Lift Technician to join an independent lift company covering London. The role involves advanced fault-finding, testing, repairs and supporting field engineers to keep lifts safe and compliant.

Working across London and surrounding areas, you will diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, interpret wiring diagrams, and ensure work complies with health and safety regulations. NVQ Level 4 Lift Engineering and a full UK driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Lift Technician or Senior Lift Engineer.
• NVQ Level 4 in Lift Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Advanced mechanical and electrical fault-finding ability.
• Experience resolving complex or recurring lift faults.
• Knowledge of passenger and goods lifts from multiple manufacturers.
• Confident interpreting wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
• Good knowledge of lift regulations and health & safety.
• Reliable, safety-conscious and able to work independently.
• Professional communication skills with customers and colleagues.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical faults.
• Provide technical support to service and repair engineers.
• Attend difficult breakdowns and recurring faults requiring specialist expertise.
• Carry out repairs, adjustments and component replacements.
• Test equipment following repairs and confirm safe return to service.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical drawings and manufacturers' documentation.
• Identify defective components and provide accurate repair/replacement recommendations.
• Complete job sheets, technical reports and customer documentation.
• Liaise professionally with customers, site contacts and engineering teams.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant lift regulations, health & safety requirements and company procedures.
• Travel throughout London and surrounding areas.
