Job summary

Marmon Lift Recruitment is seeking an experienced Lift Technician to join an established independent lift company based in Kent and covering London.

You will diagnose complex mechanical and electrical faults, perform advanced repairs and support engineers in the field, ensuring lifts are safe and compliant. The role requires NVQ Level 4 Lift Engineering and the ability to work independently, travel around London and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 4 in Lift Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience diagnosing complex lift faults.
• Strong knowledge of passenger and goods lift equipment from various manufacturers.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical faults on passenger and goods lifts.
• Provide advanced technical support to service and repair engineers across London.
• Attend problematic breakdowns and repeat faults requiring specialist expertise.
• Complete technical repairs, adjustments and component replacements.
• Test lift equipment following repairs and confirm that units are safe to return to service.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical drawings and manufacturers' documentation.
• Identify components requiring repair or replacement and provide accurate recommendations.
• Support the development of engineers through technical guidance and on-site assistance.
• Maintain clear job sheets, technical reports and customer documentation.
• Liaise professionally with customers, site contacts and the wider engineering team.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant lift regulations and health and safety requirements.
• Travel throughout London and surrounding areas as required.

The successful candidate will provide advanced technical support across the company's service portfolio, diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical faults, completing technical repairs and supporting engineers in the field. This position requires an experienced, NVQ Level 4-qualified Lift Technician who can work independently and ensure lift equipment remains safe, reliable and compliant.

Ideal Lift Technician Candidate

• Strong experience working as a Lift Technician or senior Lift Engineer.
• NVQ Level 4 in Lift Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Advanced mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving complex or recurring lift faults.
• Strong knowledge of passenger and goods lift equipment from a range of manufacturers.
• Confident reading wiring diagrams, technical drawings and lift documentation.
• Good knowledge of lift regulations and health and safety requirements.
• Reliable, safety-conscious and capable of working independently.
• Professional approach when supporting engineers and communicating with customers.
• Full UK driving licence.
