Job summary

Active Tunnelling is seeking an experienced Lift Supervisor with a valid Slinger/Signaller ticket to join a tunnelling project on the A42. This on-site contract runs from 2 November 2026 to 28 December 2026.

You will supervise lifting operations, carry out Slinger/Signaller duties when required, and collaborate with crane operators and the tunnelling team to maintain high safety standards on site. Experience in shaft, pit or pipejacking is preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid Lift Supervisor qualification/ticket.
• Valid Slinger/Signaller ticket.
• Experience supervising lifting operations.
• Experience in tunnelling, shafts, pits or pipejacking preferred.
• Strong understanding of lifting procedures and site safety.

Responsibilities

Lift Supervisor / Slinger Signaller - Tunnelling

Location: A42
Start Date: 2nd November 2026
Finish Date: 28th December 2026

We are looking for an experienced Lift Supervisor with a valid Slinger/Signaller ticket to join an Active Tunnelling project on the A42, starting 2nd November through to 28th December.

Duties will include:

• Supervising and coordinating lifting operations
• Carrying out Slinger/Signaller duties when required
• Supporting lifting operations around shafts and pits
• Assisting with pipejacking and tunnelling works
• Ensuring lifts are carried out safely and in accordance with lift plans
• Working closely with crane operators and the tunnelling team
• Maintaining high health and safety standards on site

Requirements:

• Valid Lift Supervisor qualification/ticket
• Valid Slinger/Signaller ticket
• Previous experience supervising lifting operations
• Tunnelling, shaft, pit or pipejacking experience preferred
