Job summary

Active Tunnelling in Sedgeletch is seeking an experienced Lift Supervisor with a valid Slingers/Signaller ticket to join our shaft works project, starting 12th October 2026. The role is based on site in Sedgeletch and requires strong leadership for lifting operations within a tunnelling environment.

You will supervise lifting activities, perform Sling/Signaller duties when needed, and coordinate with crane operators and the site team to ensure lifts are carried out safely in line with lift plans

Qualifications

• Valid Lift Supervisor ticket
• Valid Slingers/Signaller ticket
• Experience supervising lifting operations
• Shaft, tunnelling or heavy civils experience preferred
• Strong understanding of lifting procedures and site safety
• Reliable and confident in tunnelling environments

• Carrying out Slinger/Signaller duties when required
• Supporting lifting operations around shafts
• Working closely with crane operators and the site team
• Ensuring lifts are completed safely and in accordance with lift plans
• Supporting general shafting operations
• Maintaining high health and safety standards on site

Requirements:

• Valid Lift Supervisor ticket
• Valid Slinger/Signaller ticket
• Previous experience supervising lifting operations
• Previous shaft, tunnelling or heavy civils experience preferred
• Strong understanding of lifting procedures and site safety
• Reliable and confident working within a tunnelling environment
