Job summary

KONE is looking for a Lift Engineer Improver to support the Cambridge area with on-site maintenance, fault finding, and safety inspections. This role is designed as a development path toward becoming a fully qualified engineer, with hands-on experience and shadowing of senior technicians.

You'll work under experienced engineers, learn different lift types and control systems, and progress toward NVQ3 in Lift Engineering while building practical competence.

Qualifications

• Some experience within the lift industry or a relevant engineering background.
• A willingness to learn and develop within a hands-on role.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support experienced engineers in delivering planned maintenance, minor repairs, and safety inspections across a variety of lift systems.
• Shadow service routes, assist with fault finding, and gradually take on hands-on maintenance tasks.
• Prepare tools and equipment, complete basic service documentation, and help keep systems running safely and efficiently.
