Job summary

Otis is seeking a Lift Service Engineer to join our on-site team in Reading. You will maintain a portfolio of lifts, perform routine service checks, and ensure passenger safety while keeping clients informed about work performed.

You will react to breakdowns, provide technical solutions, and carry out minor repairs. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork within an international, market-leading company.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 in lift service, maintenance or repair is required.
• At least 24 months of experience in the elevator sector.
• Good knowledge of electricity and electrical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine service checks on lift units across the site and report findings.
• Provide updates to clients on work carried out.
• Respond to breakdowns and offer technical solutions.

Otis is growing and is looking for a maintenance mechanic for one of our entities. You will ensure the safety of passengers by safely maintaining a portfolio of lifts

On a typical day you will:

• Perform routine service checks on a number of units across the site, recording and escalating your findings to the field manager.
• Be the face of the business, often providing updates to clients around work carried out.
• React to sudden breakdowns, working with both passengers and the client to provide a technical solution to breakdown issues.
• Perform minor repairs.

What you will need to be successful.

• Hold an NVQ level 3 in lift service, maintenance, or repair.
• Hold a drivers license.
• You have at least 24 months of experience in the elevator sector.
• You have good skills in electricity and electrical engineering
• You are a committed professional, with safety as your priority
• You are comfortable communicating to others
• You are curious, adaptable, and you know how to work alone or in a team
