Job summary

Schindler Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Lift Maintenance Technician to service and repair lift equipment, ensuring safe operation in buildings, airports and transit hubs.

You will diagnose faults, conduct routine inspections, and document service results while using approved tools and PPE. A driving licence and NVQ3 in lift maintenance are required, with a competitive benefits package including company vehicle.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 minimum in lift maintenance or equivalent.
• Advanced Electrical and Mechanical knowledge, including Multi-Brand equipment.
• Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Manual dexterity for repetitive tasks.
• Experience in lift servicing/maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing of lift equipment, including minor repair work and routine replacement of components and in accordance with approved company procedures.
• Rectify and reduce faults on lift equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning.
• Check speed, motor start/stop, noise, temperature and power supply using approved tooling and PPE.
• Carry out routine installation inspections and reinstatement with documentation.
• Fault finding and diagnostic procedures using manuals and test equipment to restore service.
• Use written or graphical information effectively.

Your main responsibilities

In this role, you'll be responsible for:

Carry out routine servicing of lift equipment, including minor repair work and the routine replacement of components and in accordance with approved company procedures (PPE, PDA, 2+ etc)

To rectify and reduce faults on lift equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning

Checks to include, speed, motor start/stop, noise temperature and power supply using approved company issued tooling and protective equipment

Carry out the routine inspection, adjustment, of installations in accordance with approved procedures. Reinstate lift and complete service documentation

Carrying out fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals and appropriate test equipment, restoring equipment to service

Competence is required to make effective use of written or graphical information

Who you are

Experience in lift Servicing/ Maintenance/ Repairs preferred

Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in lift maintenance or equivalent

Advanced Electrical and Mechanical knowledge, including Multi-Brand equipment

Advanced problem-solving skills

Full UK driving License

The ability to work under pressure, to deadlines and within efficiencies

The ability to work independently with a flexible approach

Manual dexterity - Requires the use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate various hand and power tools and to record written information

Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills
