Job summary

National Manufacturer and Installation Company in London and the South is seeking a Lift Service/Call out Engineer to carry out routine servicing and minor repairs of lift equipment, ensuring safe operation and compliance with company procedures.

The role requires NVQ level 3 in Lift/Escalator maintenance or equivalent, basic electrical and mechanical knowledge, and a full UK driving licence; driving responsibilities will apply locally.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift/Escalator maintenance or equivalent
• Basic Electrical and Mechanical knowledge, including Multi-Brand Equipment
• Full UK driving Licence

Responsibilities

• Rectify and reduce faults on lift/escalator equipment during breakdowns and verify function
• Check lift/escalator function as part of maintenance regime: speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise, temperature and power supplies
• Carry out routine inspection and adjustment; Reinstate lift/escalator and complete service documentation
• Carrying out fault finding and diagnostic procedures using manuals and test equipment; restore equipment to service
• Work in accordance with the Company's Quality Corporate policy
• Attend relevant training sessions to keep up to date on technical knowledge and skills
• Work in accordance with Safety policies to ensure compliance with current UK legal requirements
• Contribute to the Company safety objectives by maintaining monitoring safety systems and implementing changes

Job Title - Lift Service/Call out Engineer

Location - London and the South

Salary - £45,000 - £50,000

On behalf of our client, we are currently recruiting for a Service Engineer to carry out routine servicing of lift equipment, including minor repair work and the routine replacement of components in accordance with approved company procedures (PPE, PDA, Expert+ etc).

Key Duties

• To rectify and reduce faults on lift/escalator equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning.
• Checking the lift/escalator function as part of a maintenance regime: checks to include speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise, temperature and power supplies using approved company issued tooling and protective equipment.
• Carry out the routine inspection and adjustment in accordance with approved procedures. Reinstate lift/escalator and complete service documentation.
• Carrying out fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals and appropriate test equipment, restoring equipment to service. Competence is required to make effective use of written or graphical information.
• Employees are required to carry out all works in accordance with the Company's Quality Corporate policy.
• Employees are required to attend all relevant training sessions to keep up to date on technical knowledge and skills.
• All employees are required to work in accordance with the Company's Safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current UK legal requirements
• Employees will be required to contribute to the Company safety objectives, where necessary by maintaining/monitoring current safety systems under their direct control and implementing agreed changes (where applicable) to its safety management system.

Key Requirements

Experience in lift/escalator Servicing/ Maintenance/ Repairs preferred

• Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift/Escalator maintenance or equivalent.
• Basic Electrical and Mechanical knowledge, including Multi-Brand Equipment.
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Full UK driving License
