Job summary

Schindler Ltd (UK) is seeking a Lift Installation Engineer to cover the Reading to Brighton corridor. You will install lift systems from start to finish across commercial, residential and infrastructure projects, ensuring high quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities include installation, alignment, and commissioning, with a focus on timely delivery, collaboration with stakeholders, and meticulous adherence to procedures. A strong safety mindset and independent work style are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in lift engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience installing lifts on new, refurbishment or modernisation projects.
• Strong understanding of lift installation techniques and safety requirements.
• Fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder relationship skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Commitment to safety, quality and customer service.
• Experience with various lift products and testing/commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Install lift equipment and mechanical/electrical components per procedures.
• Complete installation, alignment and assembly of lift systems.
• Install suspension ropes, governor ropes and safety equipment.
• Install lift entrances, doors, frames and operating equipment.
• Carry out installation inspections and pre-commissioning checks.
• Conduct site surveys and review project requirements.
• Monitor progress and provide updates on status and resources.
• Troubleshoot installation issues and implement solutions.
• Collaborate with customers, contractors and project teams.
• Maintain high safety, quality and workmanship standards.
