Job summary

Marmon Lift Recruitment is seeking an experienced Lift Repair Engineer to join a well-established independent lift company serving Essex, London and the South East.

You will carry out planned and reactive repair work on passenger and goods lifts, diagnose faults and complete repairs safely and efficiently. The role focuses on repair work, with strong technical support and opportunities for progression.

Full UK driving licence is required and extensive training is provided.

Qualifications

• Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or above in Lift Engineering.
• Proven experience repairing lifts across a range of equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive repair work across passenger and goods lifts.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
• Repair lifts identified during LOLER exams, breakdowns, wear and defects.
• Replace lift components including motors, gearboxes and door operators.
• Carry out larger repair and refurbishment works while maintaining reliability.
• Ensure compliance with current lift regulations and company procedures.
• Document repairs accurately and provide clear progress updates.
• Work independently across London with support from repairs management and technical team.

Marmon Lift Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Lift Repair Engineer to join a well-established and highly respected independent lift company operating throughout Essex, London and the South East.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Lift Repair Engineer looking to focus exclusively on repair work, joining a business with a dedicated in-house repairs department, strong technical support and an excellent reputation for quality workmanship.

Lift Engineer Role

• Carry out planned and reactive repair work across a range of passenger and goods lifts.
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical faults and complete repairs efficiently and safely.
• Complete repairs arising from LOLER examinations, breakdowns, component wear and equipment defects.
• Replace and repair lift components including motors, gearboxes, ropes, door operators, controllers and associated equipment.
• Carry out larger repair and refurbishment works while ensuring lifts are returned to reliable operation.
• Ensure all repair work is completed in accordance with current lift regulations, safety standards and company procedures.
• Complete repair documentation accurately and provide clear updates on works completed and any further recommendations.
• Work independently across London with full support from an experienced repairs management and technical team.

Ideal Lift Engineer Candidate

• Currently working as a Lift Repair Engineer, Lift Modernisation Engineer, Lift Installation Engineer or an experienced Lift Engineer with strong repair experience.
• Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or above (or equivalent) in Lift Engineering.
• Proven experience completing major and minor repairs across a variety of lift equipment.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities.
• Confident working on a range of manufacturers and lift systems.
• Able to work independently, diagnose problems and determine the correct repair solution.
• Strong communication skills and a professional approach when working on customer sites.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
