Job summary
Zurich Engineering is seeking an Engineer Surveyor for Lift & Crane/LEV in the Basingstoke area. You will join a field-based team, carrying out statutory inspections and reporting findings electronically from site.
The role offers flexible hours (part-time, job-share or full-time) with travel within Newbury/Thatcham/Basingstoke and a client‑facing focus, supported by industry-leading training. You’ll become part of Zurich’s engineering inspection workforce, developing mechanical engineering
Qualifications
- Level 4 qualification (HND/HNC) in engineering; training offered to reach competency
- Time served or Modern Apprenticeship required
- Hands-on experience in a relevant engineering discipline
- Background in lifts and/or crane equipment is advantageous
- COMPEX qualification is advantageous
- P601 LEV qualification advantageous
- Inspection & test qualification (C&G 2391-52 or equivalent)
- Full valid UK driving licence
- Willing and able to work paid overtime
Responsibilities
- Carry out hands-on statutory inspections in client environments
- Report results using a rugged laptop and issue electronically to clients
- Provide expert engineering judgments and liaise with clients on compliance
- Develop relationships with clients and manage travel within geographic area
