Job summary

Schindler Group in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced lift maintenance technician to service and repair lift equipment. You will perform routine servicing, fault diagnosis, and ensure installations operate safely and to specification.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 in lift maintenance (or equivalent), strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, and a valid UK driving licence. You will work with approved company tools and contribute to safety and service quality across our lift systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in lift servicing/maintenance preferred.
• NVQ Level 3 in lift maintenance or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing of lift equipment, including minor repair work and routine replacement of components.
• Rectify and reduce faults on lift equipment in breakdowns and verify correct functioning.
• Check speed, motor start/stop, noise, temperature and power supply using approved tooling.
• Carry out routine inspection and adjustment of installations and reinstate lifts with service documentation.
• Perform fault finding and diagnostics using manuals and test equipment to restore equipment to service.
• Use written or graphical information effectively.

Job description

Your main responsibilities

In this role, you'll be responsible for:

• Carry out routine servicing of lift equipment, including minor repair work and the routine replacement of components and in accordance with approved company procedures (PPE, PDA, 2+ etc)

• To rectify and reduce faults on lift equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning

• Checks to include, speed, motor start/stop, noise temperature and power supply using approved company issued tooling and protective equipment

• Carry out the routine inspection, adjustment, of installations in accordance with approved procedures. Reinstate lift and complete service documentation

• Carrying out fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals and appropriate test equipment, restoring equipment to service

• Competence is required to make effective use of written or graphical information

Who you are

• Experience in lift Servicing/ Maintenance/ Repairs preferred

• Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in lift maintenance or equivalent

• Advanced Electrical and Mechanical knowledge, including Multi-Brand equipment

• Advanced problem-solving skills

• Full UK driving License

• The ability to work under pressure, to deadlines and within efficiencies

• The ability to work independently with a flexible approach

• Good communication skills at different levels (Client/Service Leader/Inspectors)

• Manual dexterity - Requires the use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate various hand and power tools and to record written information

• Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills
