Job summary

Lancaster City Council is seeking a dedicated lifeguard at Salt Ayre Leisure Centre. You will supervise the pool and flume, set up equipment for activities, and help run school holiday events and birthday parties.

A National Pool Lifeguard Qualification is essential, with an interview swimming test and DBS clearance required. Shifts run around centre hours, with a Local Government Pension Scheme benefit. Training across the centre may be provided.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification) and it must be current.
• Excellent swimming ability and the ability to perform a swimming test at interview.
• Enhanced DBS clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• supervise the swimming pool and flume to ensure safety and customer experience.
• set up and clean equipment for a wide range of sporting activities.
• organise school holiday events and children’s birthday parties.
• work across different leisure centre areas after appropriate training.
