Job summary

Horizon Leisure Centre in Waterlooville is seeking a Part-Time Lifeguard to join the Operations Team. You will report to the Duty Manager and support the smooth running of a first-class leisure facility.

The role requires lifeguard duties, customer service and a proactive safety focus. A comprehensive induction and benefits package is provided, with flexible hours and hybrid-friendly policies.

Qualifications

• RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Certificate or willing to undertake.
• First Aid certification is desirable.
• COSHH and Health & Safety knowledge desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform lifeguarding duties and assist the Duty Management Team.
• Welcome and assist customers with enquiries and provide information on services.
• Ensure facilities are clean, safe and hazard-free.
• Set up and take down sports equipment as scheduled.
• Maintain high standards of customer and staff respect and safety.
• Protect children and vulnerable adults; monitor passenger safety at all times.

The Trust:

Your Role

To assist the Duty Management Team in the operation and presentation of a first-class leisure facility to all Horizon Leisure Centre customers

Your Team

You’ll be working within our Operations Team and directly reporting to the Duty Manager.

Your Responsibilities

• Use the Horizon HELLO in all customer interactions

• Welcome and assist customers with general enquiries

• Understand and be knowledgeable about our products and services

• Undertake lifeguarding duties and operational duties as directed by the Duty Management Team

• Maintain and monitor all facilities to ensure cleanliness is paramount and always free of hazards

• Responsible for ensuring customers are treated with respect

• Responsible for ensuring staff are treated with respect

• Responsible for the safety of all customers and safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults

• Set-up and take down of sports equipment according to schedules

Your Experience

• Experience of working in a customer services environment

• Experience as a Centre Attendant/Lifeguard in a wet and dry centre

• First Aid

• Manual Handling

Your Qualifications

• RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Certificate (or willing to undertake)

• HSE First Aid Qualification desirable

• Certificates in COSHH & Health & Safety desirable

This role will be based at Waterlooville but will be expected to travel to other company site as the need requires.
