About this opportunity:
The Lifeguard ensures that the aquatic operations are in compliance with established departmental policies and procedures. Aquatic Lifeguard is an hourly position, which may be designed full-time, part [1] time, or as needed. Under the direction and supervision of the Lead Life Guard, the Lifeguard observes swimmers, protects life, prevents accidents, enforces regulations, and does related work as required.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to plan work priorities, evaluate work performances and provide recommendations for improving productivity and efficiency of work. Maintain a variety of internal and external contacts and work cooperatively with superior and subordinate staff. Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work in order to accomplish work in compliance with quality standards and deadlines. Must be at least 16 years of age. Must have the ability to swim with proficiency and endurance. Must successfully tread water with a brick for 5 minutes. Have the ability to work with children, parents, and staff in a capacity of leadership, counseling and education including but not limited to: Ability to relate joyfully and sensitively to people of all ages Sensitivity to individual needs. Ability to use appropriate positive discipline consistently Dependable Ability to handle security and crisis situations, calmly Ability to seek supervision and use it consistently
Work is performed in an environment where there may be a little physical discomforts associated with changes in temperature, pool chemicals as well as discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
