Job summary

Bimplus in Birmingham is seeking a Lifecycle Project Manager with proven FM, maintenance and PFI experience to deliver life cycle projects on a live healthcare site.

You will manage P&L, stakeholder relationships, ensure on-time delivery and margin, and support governance to establish a Centre of Excellence. This role offers competitive salary, car allowance, bonus, private healthcare and pension.

Qualifications

• Proven background in FM, maintenance delivery, and the PFI environment.
• Strong Project Manager with healthcare live-project delivery experience.
• Commercial awareness to manage supplier contracts.
• Knowledge of Local Authority legislation, planning, Fire and Building Regulations.
• Knowledge of building/engineering services design and British Standards.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act and CDM regulations.
• Understanding of estates and building issues in FM services.
• HNC/HND or equivalent in building or engineering discipline.
• Experience in PFI Healthcare environment (Desirable).
• Valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage the P&L and H&S for projects from concept to completion with support from the Lead PM and Head of Projects.
• Full Profit & Loss responsibility for delivered projects & lifecycle works.
• Build and sustain relationships with stakeholders at management level to ensure pipeline growth.
• Support wider project, lifecycle and operational teams to meet time and budget.
• Manage the team and ensure continuity during staff absences/holidays.
• Ensure on-time delivery and margin optimisation for all projects.
• Support all phases from initial request to close out to meet contractual requirements.
• Support Lead PM with governance to make the contract a Centre of Excellence.
• Continually refine the project delivery model to optimise resources per project.
• Identify and mitigate project risks; maintain project plan from inception to completion.
• Monitor and report project financial performance to the Lead PM.

Brief

Lifecycle Project Manager needed for a large well known Facilities Management organisation based in Birmingham who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Lifecycle Project Manager that takes pride in their work.

The successful candidate must have a proven background in FM, maintenance delivery, and the PFI environment and be a strong Project Manager, who will have a proven track record working in healthcare and delivering projects in a live environment.

As part of the Project Management team you will take full accountability for the delivery of Variations and Life Cycle projects across the PFI site.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Lifecycle Project Manager will include:

• Manage the P&L and H&S for your projects from concept to completion with the support from the Lead PM and Head of Projects
• Full Profit & Loss responsibility for your delivered projects & life cycle works
• Build and sustain strong relationship with relevant stakeholders (Trust / SPV) at management level to ensure the continuation and growth of the pipeline for the foreseeable future
• Support the wider Project, Life cycle and operational teams to ensure all work is carried out on time & to budget
• Manage the team and ensure that there is continuity of service during staff absences/holidays
• Ensure on time delivery and margin optimisation is achieved for all projects
• Support all phases of the project, from initial request to close out, to meet all contractual requirements
• Support the Lead PM with processes and governance across the site which will make the Queen Elizabeth contract a Centre of Excellence across the business area
• Continually refining the project delivery model to ensure the right resources and approach is deployed and optimised for each project
• Make sure project risks are identified and managed through effective mitigation measures. Manage the implementation of designated projects. Ensure the project plan is maintained from inception to completion
• Monitoring and communicating project financial performance and administration to the Lead PM so that you can review targets against budget

What experience you need to be the successful Lifecycle Project Manager:

• Proven background in FM, maintenance delivery, and the PFI environment
• A strong Project Manager, who will have a proven track record working in Healthcare and delivering projects in a live environment
• Strong Commercial awareness will be needed to manage and flow Supplier Contracts downstream
• Ability to show understanding of Local Authority legislation, Planning Applications, Fire and Building Regulations Approvals
• A sound knowledge of building and engineering services design and associated British Standards
• A sound knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act, the Construction Design and Management Regulations and other relevant statutory requirements will be required
• Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of technical and estates and building issues in the provision of construction, maintenance and FM services
• HNC /HND or equivalent qualification in a building or engineering discipline
• Experience within a PFI Healthcare environment (Desirable)
