Job summary

Cytiva in the United Kingdom (Portsmouth Harbourgate) is seeking a Scientist I to perform basic complexity laboratory projects for New Product Development and Manufacturing. You will generate test data to specified protocols and support validation activities, reporting to the Fast Trak Validation Services manager.

This is an on-site role at Harbourgate, Portsmouth. You will review safety data, follow SOPs, operate equipment, and document results while coordinating with management and project

Qualifications

• Degree in Biological Science or equivalent with knowledge of fundamental lab concepts.
• Knowledge of laboratory techniques and measurement methods.
• Ability to analyse test results and interpret data.
• Commitment to working safely and following HSE policies.

Responsibilities

• Review job requests and testing requirements per SOPs.
• Perform tests and record data on datasheets or electronically.
• Monitor timelines and communicate conflicts with management.
• Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
• Maintain understanding of related laboratory systems (purchasing, calibration, inventory).
