The Opportunity

ConvenientMD is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. As a vital clinical team member, you will play an integral role in providing high-quality care to our patients, working alongside medical providers, and contributing to a supportive, collaborative environment. Your Impact
  • Patient Care & Triage: Conduct comprehensive patient triage by taking vital signs, documenting medical history, and performing observational examinations to identify immediate healthcare needs.
    • Assist with patient exams, ensuring all necessary equipment and documentation are prepared, while supporting providers during testing and procedures.
  • Clinical Procedures:
    • Perform diagnostic and testing procedures, including vision, hearing, drug screens, breath alcohol testing, spirometry, and more.
    • Execute point-of-care testing such as strep, flu, RSV, SARS-CoV-2, glucose, lipid panel, and urinalysis.
    • Provide cardiac and airway management, including ECGs, AED use, nebulizer treatments, and oxygen administration.
    • Deliver wound care assessments, immunizations, and medication administration per federal and state regulations.
  • Patient Engagement & Documentation: Assist with patient inquiries, communicate test results, and explain medication or therapy plans.
    • Maintain accurate electronic medical records, documenting patient histories and treatment details.
    • Observe and report changes in patients' conditions, taking necessary action as needed.
  • Clinic Operations:
    • Ensure medical instruments and equipment are clean, sterilized, and maintained per organizational policies.
    • Maintain a stocked and sterile workspace, supporting smooth clinic operations.
  • Collaboration with Clinical Team: Work closely with other members of the clinical team to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
    • Communicate effectively and efficiently with providers and other healthcare professionals to relay patient information and updates.
    • Support and train new team members.
Required Availability
  • Must be able to work 12-hour shifts in consecutive and/or non-consecutive days:
    • Full-time: three (3) 12-hour shifts a week, including at least four (4) shifts a month on weekends.
    • Part-time: two (2) 12-hour shifts per week, including at least two (2) shifts a month on weekends.
    • Per diem: four (4) 12-hour shifts per month, ideally one per week.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays.
  • Willingness to work at multiple ConvenientMD locations within an hour's travel from your primary clinic, if needed.
  • Availability for training shifts outside your primary location within a one-hour commute.
Who You Are
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • State-licensed practical nurse (LPN) with prior experience placing and monitoring IVs; IV certification required for Maine and New Hampshire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or Red Cross. Online CPR, ACLS certifications are not accepted.
  • Compassionate, authentic, patient-focused; supportive and understanding of others.
  • Proactive and confident communicator, able to address concerns professionally and directly.
  • Trustworthy, maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
  • Effective in communication and collaboration with patients and team members.
  • Team-oriented, enjoys working collaboratively.
  • Technically proficient with Microsoft Office and able to learn clinical software systems.
Bonus Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of triage experience in urgent care or emergency department preferred.
