Job summary

Dorset Council's Library Service seeks a part-time Customer Advisor to support lifelong learning, digital engagement, and inclusive access across Wimborne, Corfe Mullen, Lytchett Matravers and Upton. You’ll help users access resources, run events, and promote services in a welcoming environment.

You will work 19 hours per week (pro rata from 37 hours) across libraries, travel between sites, and join a team dedicated to community wellbeing and lifelong learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of customer service and manage day-to-day service delivery.
• Assist users with physical and online resources to enhance their library experience.
• Personalise interactions and promote library and council services.
• Support digital engagement with self-service terminals and public computers.
• Organise and deliver multi-generational activities and events.
• Maintain a safe, accessible space and manage bookings and stock levels.
• Contribute to marketing and outreach of library services.
• Work across multiple locations and participate in outreach activities.
