Job summary

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s Knowledge and Library Service (KLS) is seeking a flexible library assistant to support evidence-based practice across the organisation. You will source articles and resources for staff, help with enquiries, registrations, and shelving, and assist in developing both digital and physical collections.

You will contribute to the day-to-day running of the library, catalogue new titles using Koha, manage laptop loans, and oversee the article request

Responsibilities

Job description

The Knowledge and Library Service (KLS) provides multidisciplinary evidence and knowledge across the organisation, in order to support a culture of evidence-based practice. This role supports the KLS in delivery of key library functions; sourcing articles, evidence and resources for the organisation and providing quality customer-service to all STH staff., To support in the delivery of library and knowledge services to meet the information needs of Sheffield TeachingHospital (STH) staff.

• To support with the development, organisation, and promotion of the digital and physical collections of STH.
• Responsible for the day to day running of the physical library including dealing with enquiries, registrations, circulation, shelving and other routine tasks.
• Purchase new titles in line with the requirements of the organisation.
• Use the Library Management System (Koha) to catalogue new books and classify stock using the relevant systems andin line with our existing collections.
• Manage Laptop loans via the Library Management System on behalf of the Learning and Development Department
• Oversee the article request service, ensuring papers are sourced for clinicians in a timely manner.
