Job summary

Alleyn's School in Dulwich, London, is seeking a proactive Library Assistant to support daily operations of our busy School Library during term time. You will help pupils find resources, assist with displays and events, and promote literacy and independent learning across the school community.

The role requires an organised, detail‑minded graduate with strong IT skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff. DBS checked applicants welcomed.

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail.

  • Experience working in a library, school or customer-facing environment is desirable.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Full time, term-time only · Dulwich, London · From 3 September 2026

Alleyn's School is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Library Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our busy and welcoming School Library. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for reading, learning and working with young people to contribute to a vibrant learning environment at the heart of the School.

Working closely with the Head of Library and Research Learning, you will help ensure that the Library remains an engaging, well-organised and accessible space for pupils and staff. From supporting pupils in locating resources and developing a love of reading, to assisting with library events, displays and reading initiatives, you will play an important role in promoting literacy, independent learning and academic success across the School community.

Hours:

Monday to Friday, term-time only. Full details will be provided at interview.
