Job summary

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Knowledge and Library Services Manager to lead a dynamic team and deliver high-quality, patient-focused library and knowledge services to support education, research and clinical care.

You will coordinate print and digital resources, analyse usage data and feedback, and contribute to regional and national NHS library activities. This role offers flexible working options within an NHS Trust environment.

  • Plan, deliver and continuously improve a range of library and knowledge services ensuring accessibility and responsiveness for all users
  • Produce reports and statistics to monitor performance and inform service developments
  • Identify priorities to deliver the Strategic Library Plan and support organisational objectives
  • Manage refurbished library spaces and digital service provision
  • Lead a small team with direction, support and development to maintain high performance
  • Coordinate workloads, design rotas, and build relationships across the Trust and NHS networks

Job description

  • You will be responsible for planning, delivering and continuously improving a range of library and knowledge services, ensuring they remain relevant, accessible and responsive to all users - this includes managing, selecting and renewing print and digital resources using usage data, stakeholder feedback, service priorities and budget considerations to maximise value and impact
  • You will be required to produce reports and statistical returns, monitoring service performance, demonstrating impact and using data and feedback to inform service developments and improvements
  • As the manager of the service, you will identify service priorities and determine the activities required to deliver the Strategic Library Plan and support organisational objectives
  • You will be responsible for managing the newly refurbished library spaces, alongside digital service provision
  • You will lead a small team, providing direction, support and development to enable high levels of performance
  • You will be comfortable managing competing priorities, coordinating workloads and designing rotas to ensure services are delivered effectively
  • You will also build productive relationships with colleagues across the Trust and work collaboratively with local NHS library networks and NHS England to contribute to regional and national priorities, share best practice and support service development.
