Job summary

East Riding of Yorkshire Council seeks an enthusiastic Arts in Libraries Officer to coordinate and deliver a vibrant programme of arts across our libraries on a fixed two-year contract, with potential extension subject to funding. You will work with artists, staff and partners to programme residencies, workshops and performances while managing logistics and budgets.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering arts, cultural, community or creative projects.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Experience working with artists, community groups or cultural organisations.
  • Confidence overseeing budgets and managing contracts.
  • A proactive, self-motivated, flexible and collaborative approach.
  • A passion for libraries, creativity and community engagement.
  • Able to travel across East Yorkshire delivering events with communities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, programming and delivery of arts and cultural projects across East Riding libraries.
  • Coordinate artist residencies, workshops, performances, installations and community events.
  • Support major programmes including Festival of Words, Children's Festival of Words, Live'n'Loud and other library festivals.
  • Manage project logistics, schedules, contracts and venue arrangements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with artists, libraries, community groups and cultural partners.
  • Monitor project budgets and contribute to funding reports.
  • Co-ordinate evaluation and data collection.
  • Develop marketing materials and work with communications colleagues to promote events.
  • Support reporting to Arts Council England and the NPO Advisory Board.
