Job summary

Deer Park School is seeking a Librarian for 20 hours per week during term time. You will champion literacy, assist both staff and students, and promote the Learning Resource Centre to enhance classroom use. You will also manage ICT resources, support the First Aid room, and operate the reception desk with catalogue input.

About this Role

Librarian - 20hours per week, 10.30am to 2.30pm Monday to Friday, term time only (38 weeks).Grade B - Step 1 Actual Annual Salary £11,608.84 (which is equivalent to a full-timesalary of £25,614).

As part of our commitment to staff wellbeing RAISE Education Trust is trialling a two weekhalf term break 19th to 30th October 2026. Following this trial, should the Trust revert back to a one-week October half term break from2027 the contractual working weeks would increase to 39 weeks and the salarywould increase accordingly.

Deer Park School is anew state of the art seven-form secondary school which opened in September2021. We are part of the RAISE Education Trust which comprises of Deer Park Secondary School, Wildern Secondary School and Boorley Park Primary School. Wewill have a PAN of 1050 when full.

About the Role:

• In this excitingrole, you will be a champion for literacy, playing a pivotal role in:
• Assist bothstaff and students with enquiries.
• Promote theLearning Resource Centre to both staff and students.
• Facilitatethe use of ICT and technology based in the Resource Centre and promote the useof all available technologies including the internet.
• Hold a First Aid certificate andsupport/deputise for First Aid room as necessary.
• To work theReception desk, and ensure that loan and reference collections are effectivelymanaged.
• Input data into the librarycatalogue.
• Support the English CurriculumLead with promoting the Learning Resources Centre to further encourage anddevelop whole class use and individual pupil use.
• In consultation with the EnglishCurriculum Lead, create a programme of events such as reading groups and bookclubs.
