Job summary

Serco Limited at HMP Doncaster is seeking a Librarian to deliver a high-quality library service in our reducing re-offending team. You will support learning, literacy, personal development and rehabilitation, helping inmates access educational, legal and recreational resources in an inclusive, engaging environment.

The role maintains records, manages resources and lending systems, supervises prisoner library orderlies, and collaborates with prison staff and partners to expand education provision

Qualifications

• Qualification in library or information science or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience working in a library or information management environment.
• Strong IT skills and ability to maintain accurate records and filing systems.
• Ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
• Organised, detail-focused and able to manage competing priorities in a secure environment.
• Membership of CILIP is desirable.

Salary: £28798per annum, plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Full-time Monday- Friday 40 hours per week- 8.30am- 4:30pm

What you'll do as a Librarian

• Essential- You have a qualification in library or information science, or equivalent relevant experience.
• You have experience working in a library or similar information management environment.
• You have strong IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records and filing systems.
• You can build positive relationships and communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
• You are organised, detail-focused and able to manage competing priorities in a secure environment.
• Membership of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) is desirable.
